Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Platinum Jubilee Outfits Hinted at ‘a Lot More Going on Behind the Scenes’ — Expert

TL; DR:

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s Platinum Jubilee weekend outfits were telling, according to a body language expert. Both the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex seemed to have gotten the “memo” on wardrobe when they attended a National Service of Thanksgiving. This is why, the expert said, “there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than we think.”

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle wore monochrome looks to the Platinum Jubilee National Service of Thanksgiving

When they arrived at St. Paul’s Cathedral to honor Queen Elizabeth II, Kate and Meghan did so in bold outfits. The Duchess of Cambridge showed up in head-to-toe yellow in what might’ve been a nod to Queen Elizabeth’s fondness for wearing bright colors. Kate wore an Emilia Wickstead dress, per Vogue, with a matching hat, heels, and clutch.

Meanwhile, Meghan went for head-to-toe neutrals. She wore a grayish-beige haute couture trench coat dress from Dior. The 40-year-old completed her look with a coordinating wide-brim hat, white gloves, heels, and diamond earrings.

Additionally, Page Six reported Meghan was said to be carrying a Lady Dior handbag. The design is a tribute to Princess Diana, Meghan’s late mother-in-law, who was often seen carrying the bag.

A body language expert says Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton got the wardrobe ‘memo’ on the royal family’s ‘look’ for the National Service of Thanksgiving

Speaking on Us Weekly’s Royally Us podcast, body language expert Elaine Swann shared her thoughts on Kate and Meghan’s jubilee outfits. She said they looked to “heal the rift” by being “in step” with each other with their clothing.

“I still saw communication, in my opinion,” she said. “I was looking at what the women were wearing and if you notice Kate and Meghan in the last jubilee, they had jewel tones as if that was the memo of the day.”

“This time, it seems as if a memo was sent out, and the family had a particular look,” she explained.”Meghan and Kate were still in step with that memo for the attire of the day.”

“There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than we think,” Swann added.

All eyes were on Meghan and Harry at St. Paul’s Cathedral. It marked their first joint U.K. appearance since stepping back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020. As such, experts and fans alike, watched their every move.

While a body language expert noted Harry’s apparent anxiety during the jubilee service, fans zeroed in on Kate’s entrance. Particularly, what Meghan did as the Duchess of Cambridge walked down the aisle and took her seat.

According to the Mirror, an eagle-eyed fan noticed how Meghan seemed to turn her head away upon Kate’s arrival. “Did everyone notice the woman in white hat (Meghan) turned her head to the left when The Duchess of Cambridge was walking past…” Twitter user Kitty captioned a tweet.
